TELEGRID Signs C4i as Australasian Distributor

TELEGRID is pleased to announce that it has appointed C4i Pty Ltd as its Australasian distributor for the WZRDnet Low-Power Wireless Mesh Network.  For over 20 years, C4i has specialized in delivering standard-setting communication solutions for mission-critical military and government customers around the globe. C4i is based in Melbourne, Australia, Reston, Virginia, and Singapore, and has representatives around the world.  C4i is one of the publicly traded LongReach Group companies. A company with a global reach, C4i has the heritage, the knowledge, the commitment and the experience to adapt revolutionary solutions to all critical mission needs.

In addition to opportunities throughout Asia, C4i will be the exclusive distributor of WZRDnet to Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.  C4i also intends to integrate TELEGRID's products into their range of deployable communications system solutions to add seamless ad hoc voice and data communications capability into their already powerful Command-Centre LT range.

C4i's Managing Director, Peter Harrison, said "C4i is excited about representing the TELEGRID range of products. We are confident that the new products will be well received by our existing customer base in the resources, public safety, essential services and defence sectors."

WZRDnet is a low-power wireless ad-hoc mesh network that provides voice and data communications without existing infrastructure (i.e. no cell towers or satellites required). The network consists of lightweight handsets which function both as repeaters and communications devices. WZRDnet's packet switched architecture allows handsets to connect to any external network.  WZRDnet is an ideal solution for the military, first responders, mining, oil & gas, etc. For more information on the WZRDnet click here.

WZRDnet was purchased by the US Army and tested by the US Navy and US Marine Corps.  WZRDnet was selected by NASA as one of only ten wireless technologies included in their Innovation Ecosystem.

WZRDnet in Global Defence Review

Global Defence Review's Summer 2012 issue includes an article by Eric Sharret, Vice President of Business Development at TELEGRID.  The article, A Holistic Approach to Smartphone Networking on the Battlefield,  makes the case for a unified approach to handset and network design.  By making network architecture native to the handset it is possible to remove reliance on external infrastructure (i.e., cellular towers).  "This reflects the changing military communications landscape, which has been shifting to short term limited engagements which make deployment of an infrastructure unrealistic."

TELEGRID's WZRDnet is an example of a holistic approach to network and handset design.  By employing mesh networking and making the handset both a relay and a communication device it is possible to develop Real Time Direction Finding Applications.  With WZRDnet team members can send their GPS coordinates to a team leader for free instead of relying on expensive satellite uplinks.

TELEGRID at Technet South - Booth 522

TELEGRID invites you to Booth 522 at Technet South on July 10-12 at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, Florida.   This year's theme is "Connecting Joint and Coalition Partners for the Next Fight" with a focus on the ground component of the Army and Marine Corps and how the DoD teams with Joint, Coalition, Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs), and Interagency Organizations.  TELEGRID engineers will be on hand to demonstrate the WZRDnet Low-Power Wireless Mesh Network and the SMRT Secure Multi-web Remoting Tool.  The SMRT provides a simple Network Management System that combines the web-based configuration tools of a large number of network devices. With no software to install or complicated systems to learn the SMRT is the closest thing possible to plug and play network management. Designed primarily for the KIV-7M data encryptor, the SMRT can monitor any device with a web configuration tool including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Satellite Terminals, etc.
